Bryan Bieniek, LGPC, MS, MAT
Mental Health Counselor & Wilderness Guide
301-200-1075

Bryan graduated from Prescott College with an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, where he added to his repertoire of skills and fell in love with using Internal Family Systems (IFS), Nature Informed Therapy (NIT), and Sandtray Therapy to work with clients. Bryan's work guiding people on the land or in a clinical setting is grounded on the conviction that each individual has within themselves the capacity for insight and healing; indeed, one's highest Self is capable of bringing healing to even the most difficult circumstances. His approach to therapy is eclectic and person-centered. It focuses on bringing to light beliefs and ways of being that no longer support you as you seek to move forward and change. Bryan has experience using various tools and modalities, including NIT, IFS parts work, somatic practices, meditation, journaling, and art-making with teens and adults to help bring healing to issues of loss and grief, anxiety, depression, and attachment/relationship issues.

Beyond counseling, Bryan is a Teacher, Artist, and Wilderness Rites of Passage guide. Since 2012 he has led Vision Fasts for youth and adults after training with the School of Lost Borders. He considers the Vision Fast ceremony to be the most important work that he knows how to offer people. When he is not teaching or in the woods, he will likely be found reading, exploring various awareness meditation practices, or spending time with his wife and boys.
